This is a denim-style pant, not sure that this is the correct name since you can use this pattern to make this pant out of several fabrics, such as denim, corduroy (like in the picture) or any other medium weight fabric. It has 2 front pockets and 2 back pockets and it closes at the front with zipper and button (this is why I call it denim-style). The waistband has a hidden elastic that allows you to pull it and adjust to make it fit perfect and feel comfortable for your toddler.
